Dear Middle School Parents,
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and support during this unprecedented global event. Over the past days, Parker’s leadership teams, technology team, and academic leaders have been, and continue to work together to establish a remote learning plan that will best suit the needs of our School community and continue Parker’s academic program alongside this ever-changing environment. We assure you that the continuation of learning for Parker students and the overall well-being of all members of the Parker community is paramount.
Linked below is a document outlining Parker Online. Here, you will find an overview of how the platform will work, what a typical daily schedule will look like, and what materials students will need for each grade level. Please understand that this is an evolving process. We are all learning to navigate this new virtual learning space together; we will keep this plan updated and make necessary modifications based on feedback.
Academics aside, we understand that this can be a troubling time–especially for our kids. Everyone is experiencing a range of emotions as the news regarding COVID-19 changes by the hour. We encourage you to continue referencing Parker’s Health & Wellness resource board, where you can read updated information and access mental health resources. Additionally, Dr. Besinger, Nurse Maggie, Dr. Gillespie, and the entire Middle School faculty and staff continue to be available to support you.
Those of you with Lower School or Upper School students, please refer to the messages sent separately by Dr. Gillingham and Dr. Gillespie.
Additionally, Parker’s Communications Department has been developing a comprehensive FAQ page, which will be added to the Health & Wellness Resource Board by the end of the day. Should you have additional questions, comments, and suggestions after that information has been published, please send your messages via this online form. Your feedback is an important part of us serving you and your children during this time.
We remain strongly committed to supporting our students during this difficult time. We are all in this together.
We are Parker.
